Australian Super Resources (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information, and how you can access it or make a complaint.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What we collect
When you contact us through this website or by phone or email, we collect the information you choose to give us. That typically includes:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- the subject and content of your enquiry.
If you go on to be introduced to a financial adviser, that adviser may ask you for further information, including details about your superannuation, employment, income and insurance. Any information you give directly to an adviser is collected and held by that adviser under their own privacy policy, not ours.
We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send us, your tax file number, member numbers, passwords or bank account details.
2. Technical information
Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like most websites, our host records standard technical information when a page is requested, including your IP address, the pages you viewed, the time of the request, and your browser and device type. This is used to operate and secure the site.
Some elements of this site are loaded from third-party services — Google Fonts, and a content delivery network that serves a JavaScript library. Loading these sends your IP address to those providers. We do not control what they do with it; their own privacy policies apply.
3. Cookies and analytics
We do not currently run advertising trackers, marketing pixels or third-party analytics on this website, and we do not set cookies to profile you or follow you across other sites. If that changes, we will update this policy before doing so.
4. Why we collect it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry;
- arrange an introduction to a financial adviser, where you have asked us to;
- follow up with you about that introduction;
- meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
If you do not give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to respond to you or arrange an introduction.
5. Who we share it with
This is the most important part of this policy, so we have set it out plainly.
Our service involves passing your details to third-party financial advisers. Where you ask us to arrange an introduction, we disclose your name, contact details and a summary of your enquiry to one or more licensed financial advisers so they can contact you. Once we do, that adviser becomes responsible for the information they hold about you, and their own privacy policy governs how they handle it. We will tell you who we are introducing you to.
We may also disclose personal information to:
- service providers who help us operate the business, such as our website host and email provider;
- our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers;
- anyone else where you have consented, or where we are required or authorised to do so by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Information sent overseas
Our website host and some of the third-party services described above store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. By using this website or submitting an enquiry, you acknowledge that your information may be handled overseas, and that overseas recipients may not be subject to the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or for as long as the law requires, and then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period. There is no fee for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable cost for giving access in some cases. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing.
9. Making a complaint
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first — we would like the chance to put it right. Write to us using the details below, setting out what happened. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
